The hope for the construction of six major roads in Bihar has increased. The government can now issue tender for these roads soon. Under Phase-2 of Bihar State Highway Project-3, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a loan of $329 million for the construction of five roads in Bihar. On Tuesday, it was agreed for this loan in a meeting of officials of Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), ADB and Bihar State Road Development Corporation in Delhi. The Department of Economic Affairs said that for the roads to be built, at least 80 percent of the land is required to be acquired.

DEA gave the green signal to the tender to decide the contractor
Pankaj Kumar, Managing Director, Bihar State Road Development Corporation said that sufficient land has been acquired for SH-95, SH-98, SH-101. The land acquisition work for SH-99, 105 and 103 is also satisfactory. It is expected that the land acquisition will be completed by July 2022 as per the guidelines of DEA. The DEA has set a target of negotiating loan with ADB by August 2022. ADB has given the green signal to start the process of tender for the selection of the contractor.

- Mansi-Simri Bakhtiyarpur (SH-95)
- Katihar-Balrampur (SH-98)
- Biasi-Bahadurganj-Dighal Bank (SH-99)
- Amba-Dev-Madanpur (SH-101)
- Manjhawe-Govindpur (SH-103)
Good year in terms of highways in Bihar
This year has been better in terms of construction of highways and acceptance of new schemes in Bihar. Several schemes of National Highways have also been approved in the state. Four laning of Buxar-Ara-Koilwar-Bihta NH is almost complete. On the other hand, the construction of Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road has also gained momentum. The people of Bihar will also get the benefit of inauguration of Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh.
