The trouble of four lakh vehicle owners of Bihar is going to increase. The government is going to give them another chance to rectify the mistake. This chance will be the last. If even after this, the process of action will start. In fact, about four lakh vehicle owners of the state have tax arrears. It has more than one lakh vehicle owners in Patna district alone. At least 190 people have tax arrears in Sheohar district. The balance amount is in other items including road permit. The Transport Department is now preparing to take action against these defaulters. For this, a notice is being sent to them first.
Tax arrears of more than one lakh vehicles in Patna itself
According to the officials of the Transport Department, till now more than one lakh 10 thousand vehicle owners of Patna have tax arrears. After this, the second number in the tax arrears is that of Muzaffarpur, where there are more than 67 thousand defaulters. Purnia is at the third position with more than 26 thousand defaulters. More than 21 thousand people of Bhagalpur also have tax arrears.

In other districts 1220 of Araria, 2381 of Banka, 5676 of Aurangabad, 3918 of Bhabhua, 8166 of Bhojpur, more than 10 thousand of Chapra, 4619 of Gopalganj, 8449 of Jehanabad, 5573 of Lakhisarai, 7797 of Motihari, 9910 of Nalanda, 5883 of Nawada, 9963 of Rohtas, 3988 of Saharsa, 3521 of Samastipur, 4044 of Sitamarhi, 5476 of Siwan and 8016 people of Vaishali owe tax to the department.
Certificate case if no reply in 21 days
The Transport Department will give 21 days time to the vehicle owners after sending the notice. If the notice is not responded to within the stipulated time, a certificate case will be initiated against all the defaulters. The responsibility of sending notices has been given to all the District Transport Officers.
