Three cities of Bihar, Munger, Patna and Sonpur have reached the top in Clean India. These three have got a high position among the cleanest cities on the banks of the Ganges. Among the cities with a population of more than one lakh, Munger has won the second place and Patna has won the third position. Sonpur has won the fourth place in keeping the city clean even near the Ganges stream. Sonpur has achieved this feat in cities with a population of less than one lakh.

The results of the Swachhta Survekshan-2021 conducted by the Union Ministry of Urban Affairs were announced in Delhi on Saturday. In this, the cities being purified by the Ganges stream have increased the value of Bihar. Of the 43 cities in this category with a population of less than one lakh, nine are from Bihar. Among these, Sultanganj, Bakhtiyarpur and Teghra are ranked 16th, 18th and 19th respectively, i.e. above half. Similarly, Hajipur is seventh, Chhapra is eighth and Begusarai is at number nine in 48 cities with a population of more than one lakh cities on the banks of Ganga. Jamalpur is at number 20 and Danapur is at number 24.

Supaul’s people are the happiest

The people of Supaul are the happiest with their city administration among the cities with a population of 50 thousand to one lakh in the country. Supaul has got the award for being the best in this category of Citizen Feedback Category. Supaul is also at number seven in the Eastern Zone ranking. This is the only city in the state among the top 10 cities with a population of 50 thousand to one lakh.

here are the reasons

Under the Namami Gange program, a comprehensive action plan was prepared to make the cities of the state garbage free. Under this, sewerage treatment plants were installed at various places. The drains of the cities were prevented from entering the Ganges. Apart from this, a large number of toilets were also built under the campaign to get rid of open defecation.

it would have been better

If the state also comes ahead in the ranking of districts and cities

If the cities get a higher position in the zonal ranking too

Bihar does not come at the bottom in the ranking of a state with more than a hundred municipal bodies.

proud of them

population of more than one lakh on the banks of ganga

Munger – at number 2

Patna – at number 3

population of less than one lakh on the banks of ganga

Sonpur – at number 4
