Desk: A very good news has come out for the residents of Hajipur district, the news is that soon under the new rail line project between Hajipur to Sugauli, trains can start operating between Vaishali and Deoria Kothi from March-2023. For this, the Railways has started its exercise regarding the construction work.
Let us inform that in this 30 km long Vaishali and Deoria Kothi railway line, the Chief Administrative Officer of the Construction Department has issued tender for 15 bridges and five road underbridges and other construction works. 58 crore 56 lakh rupees will be spent on the construction work of police, road underbridge, wall, yard and drain etc. The tender process will be completed by December 15.
50 lakh people will get direct benefit: For information, let us tell you that the work of the first phase of this rail project from Ghoswar to Vaishali has been completed. Under the second phase, exercise has started for work from Vaishali to Deoria Kothi. With the completion of this project, the famous Buddhist sites of Vaishali, Kesaria, Areraj and Sugauli will be connected. Fifty lakh people of Vaishali, Muzaffarpur and East Champaran will be benefited by the completion of the project. People from the western areas of Champaran and Muzaffarpur will be able to easily travel to Patna by train via Hajipur without reaching Muzaffarpur Junction.
The initial sanctioned cost of the Hajipur – Sugauli new rail line project of Barhal, Ho was Rs 528.65 crore. The delay in construction has increased the cost to Rs 2066.78 crore. The cost of the land increased from Rs 115 crore to Rs 999 crore. Due to earthworks and increase in the number of railway underbridges, the cost increased by Rs 194 crore. 183.41 crore will be spent on electrification work.
